Anxiety Therapy

Research shows that Anxiety disorders are the most common illness in the United States, affecting 40 million adults. Anxiety is highly treatable, however less than half of people suffering with this condition get help. Break the statistic and begin reclaiming your life today.

"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself "

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Anxiety is something that we all experience as human beings. It’s that uncomfortable feeling of worry or nervousness when we are faced with a stressful situation. The physical body will often experience symptoms related to this feeling which can vary from person to person. It is normal to experience anxiety from time to time, especially when there is an external situation provoking stress or worry.

When anxiety can become an issue however, is when the feeling begins to interfere with daily life. Excessive thoughts of worry can begin to infiltrate the mind to the point of interrupting sleep and affect the ability to function in a healthy way in all areas of living.

Being in a state of hypervigilance can begin to take a toll on the nervous system, leaving us feeling burnt out and drained as it is unsustainable to live in fight or flight consistently. Experiencing high levels of anxiety without relief on a daily basis can also lead to feelings of depression, as it  might feel hopeless that things could change or that a peaceful life is within reach.

How I can help :

In our time together, we’ll develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs to begin addressing and learning to manage feelings of anxiety and worry. I utilize a variety of different interventions in session including mindfulness, hypnosis, and dbt informed techniques to begin the process of moving out of the state of fight or flight in order to begin regulating feelings of anxiety and begin to feel relaxed in the body.

You will begin the process of becoming self-aware of when the body is hijacked by the nervous system, and know the tools as well as how to use them in order to begin experiencing true emotional freedom. The goal of therapy is to begin to get your power back, and feel in control of your emotions and how you choose to react to stressful situations.

What to expect From Anxiety Treatment?

Our process begins with a phone call! It’s as easy as reaching out and giving me a call to begin taking action and creating change in your life. I offer 15 minute consultations in which we’ll discuss what’s going on in your life and what you would like to get out of therapy. At that time we can see if I am a good fit for your process and make an appointment for your first session. Every client’s treatment is specific to their needs, therefore in our first session we’ll discuss your goals and develop a plan to meet them.  I believe in a collaborative approach, and will if appropriate, provide referrals to psychiatrist or physicians to ensure you get the best care possible.
